Our team successfully rehabilitated the Cow Creek Reservoir, restoring this vital water infrastructure in full compliance with WHCE’s approved Dam Safety Permit. The project included excavating and placing about 12,000 cubic yards of moisture-conditioned fill, replacing outdated outlet works with new inlet and outlet structures, a headgate, and wheel block, and installing a toe drain and antiseep collar for improved dam safety. Riprap was replaced on all disturbed areas using on-site aggregate where possible, with final seeding and reclamation completed by the ranch owner.
Minimal dewatering was needed, managed effectively with a small cofferdam and a single trash pump. The project was delivered on time within a five-week construction window, plus mobilization and cleanup, with Forest Service access and staging coordinated near Highway 70. Following Cow Creek, our crews immediately moved on to the South Spring Creek Reservoir, maximizing efficiency. This project demonstrates our commitment to safe, reliable dam rehabilitation that protects both infrastructure and the surrounding environment.
